Wagyu encrypts your portfolio data on your device before it leaves. The encryption keys are generated and stored locally — they never touch our servers. When your data syncs to the cloud, it arrives as ciphertext that we cannot decrypt. This isn't a policy decision; it's an architectural constraint.
This means that even in a worst-case scenario — a server breach, a government request, or a rogue employee — your portfolio data remains unreadable. We can't hand over what we can't see. End-to-end encryption isn't a premium feature in Wagyu; it's the default for every user.
Add a stock on your iPhone and it appears on your iPad within seconds. Check your portfolio on your Apple Watch and it reflects the position you just imported via FinTS on your phone. Wagyu keeps everything in sync across all your Apple devices without you thinking about it.
Sync works over iCloud, so there's no separate account to create or maintain. If you're signed into your Apple ID, sync just works. The encrypted data travels through iCloud but remains opaque to Apple as well — only your own devices can decrypt it.
Wagyu asks for nothing beyond a sign-in with Apple, Google or email — and with Sign in with Apple you can hide even that address. No phone number, no identity verification, no profile to fill out. Sign in, and your portfolio follows you across devices.
The security model is simpler because there's less to protect. Your Apple ID handles device-to-device sync; Wagyu handles the encryption.
Your portfolio data is stored locally on every device. If you lose internet connectivity — on a flight, in a tunnel, or just in a dead zone — your portfolio is still fully accessible. You can browse your holdings, review historical performance, and see your last-known values without any network connection.
When connectivity returns, Wagyu syncs any changes automatically. There's no manual refresh or sync button to press. The app handles conflict resolution quietly in the background, so if you edited something on two devices while offline, the most recent change wins.
